Space Iceland is looking to support university students applying for funding via the National Student Innovation Fund for a summer research project in the space sector. We encourage students to design and pitch their own project or join an existing project. Space Iceland and our partners cooperate and support students interested in space and space-related research every year.

Space Iceland auglýsir eftir nemendum til að sækja um í Nýsköpunarsjóð námsmanna fyrir sumarið 2022 í samstarfi við skrifstofuna og tengda aðila. Nemendur eru hvattir til að koma með hugmyndir að eigin verkefni eða hanna verkefni með Space Iceland og samstarfsaðilum.
Umræðufundur Space Iceland fer fram 24. janúar 2022 kl 18:00 á Zoom. Þau sem hafa áhuga á samstarfi við Space Iceland í sumar eru hvött til að mæta á þann fund. Þeir nemendur sem sjá sér ekki fært að mæta á þessum tíma eru þó beðin um að fylla út skráningaformið. Við sendum út upplýsingar og hlekk á upptöku að fundi loknum.

Umsóknarfrestur í Nýsköpunarsjóð námsmanna er 7. febrúar 2022 kl 15:00. Nokkur vinna fer í slíka umsókn, því eru nemendur sem hafa áhuga hvattir til skrá sig fyrir kynningafundinn svo við getum aðstoðað ykkur sem best.
Space Iceland er fjörugur og krefjandi vinnustaður sem starfar með aðilum tengdum geimvísíndum og geimiðnaði um allan heim. Frá upphafi lagt áherslu á að styðja við bakið á þverfaglegum verkefnum nemenda við alla háskóla og hvetjum því nemendur á öllum sviðum að kynna sér möguleika á að búa til verkefni tengdu þeirra námi. Nemendur félags-, mennta-, heilbrigðis-, hugvísinda-, lista-, verkfræði- eða náttúruvísindasviði hafa jafnan möguleika á að sækja um í sjóðinni og starfa með Space Iceland. Geimurinn þarf lögmenn, verkfræðinga, hönnuði, lækna, rithöfunda og allt þar á milli.
Space Iceland mun sjá um aðstoð og handleiðslu í verkefnum nemenda, aðstoða við verkefnaáætlun og verkefnastjórnun. Þá fá nemendur aðgang að vinnuaðstöðu, veigamiklu tengslaneti skrifstofunnar sem og þekkingu og reynslu starfsmanna Space Iceland.
Markmið Nýsköpunarsjóðs námsmanna er að gefa háskólum, rannsóknarstofnunum og fyrirtækjum tækifæri til að ráða námsmenn í grunnnámi og námi á meistarastigi við háskóla til sumarvinnu að rannsókna- og þróunarverkefnum: https://www.rannis.is/…/men…/nyskopunarsjodur-namsmanna/

Sign up via the registration form ( https://bit.ly/3nFcYVJ ) and join us for an online introduction meeting Monday the 24th of January at 18.00 GMT.
We encouraged students to attend the meeting. However, should you not be able to participate at that time, we ask that you fill out the registration form anyway. This is so we can send you details after the meeting.
The application deadline for the National Student Innovation Fund is on the 7th of February 2022 at 15:00 GMT. Students are expected to pitch and design their projects, so we encouraged you to register for the introductory meeting so Space Iceland can help you with your application.
Space Iceland supports projects in all fields and studies at an Icelandic university. We, therefore, encourage students in all fields to familiarise themselves with the possibility of creating space derived projects related to their studies. Students of the social sciences, education, health, humanities, arts, engineering or natural sciences usually have the opportunity to apply for the fund and work with Space Iceland.
Space needs lawyers, engineers, designers, doctors, writers and everything in between.
Space Iceland will provide assistance and guidance in student projects and assist with project planning and management. Students also get access to work facilities, Space Iceland’s network, and the knowledge and experience of Space Iceland employees.

– Astronaut training in the North of Iceland.
– Research on National security issues and the development of the space industry
History of CNES spacecraft from Iceland 1964-65.
– Development of a space workshop for primary and preschool children.
– Air quality model for Reykjavík with data from Copernicus.
Many of our student researchers apply for further studies related to space or continue their projects after the summer.
